Hello there, shooter game fans! I am very excited that Carrier Space Warrior is coming to Windows PC with an announcement trailer this year. For those who do not know what this game is all about, Carrier Space Warrior is a vertical scrolling shooter game being developed by Psoaic, including me, for Windows PC as its primary platform.
Get ready to blast off into the cosmos with Carrier Space Warrior, an exhilarating new space-themed vertical scrolling shooter that’s set to ignite the gaming world! Inspired by the adrenaline-pumping vibes of the Raiden series and classic ‘90s arcade shooters, this game puts you in the cockpit of the AF-45 Interstellar Warrior, a cutting-edge spacecraft designed by the United Globe Protectorate (UGP), humanity’s last line of defense in a galaxy on the brink of annihilation.
Story
Set in the far future of SCY 2050 (4149 CE), the story of this game begins when humanity has soared beyond Earth, colonizing planets across the solar system and ushering in an era of peace, unity, and technological marvels under the Terran government. The UGP, evolved from the Global Peacekeeping League (founded in 20XX), stands as the protector of these interstellar colonies. But peace is shattered when the Xenorians, a tyrannical alien race from the distant planet Xenoria, launch a devastating invasion. Driven by conquest and xenophobia, they aim to purge humanity, overrun the UGP’s forces, overthrow the Terran government, and reshape the galaxy under their oppressive rule.
As Terran colonies fall and civilians flee to Earth and distant sanctuaries, the universe teeters on the edge of collapse. In response, the UGP activates operation codenamed Carrier Space Warrior (CWS), deploying elite pilots to command the AF-45 Interstellar Warrior and its blue counterpart, the AF-45 Interstellar Warrior Beta. These state-of-the-art starfighters, armed with advanced weaponry and unmatched speed, are humanity’s last hope to repel the Xenorian threat, protect the colonies, and restore peace to the galaxy.
Gameplay
In this game, it delivers a thrilling, retro-inspired, action-packed experience with modern flair. Here are the gameplay features you can expect:
Pilot the AF-45 Interstellar Warrior: Take control of the AF-45 or its blue Beta counterpart, with support for solo or co-op play.
10 Epic Stages: Battle through 10 diverse, space-themed stages filled with intense action and breathtaking visuals.
Varied Enemies: Face off against a range of Xenorian forces, including spacecraft, hovercraft, massive spaceships, and stationary turrets.
Combo Counter & Medal Chain Tracker: Rack up points by chaining enemy kills and collecting medals. Maintain your streak to multiply your score, but beware—taking a hit or losing a life resets your progress!
Stage Clear Bonuses: At the end of each stage, earn bonus points based on enemies destroyed, medals collected, bombs reserved, and combo streaks.
Overall Results: At the game’s conclusion, a grand tally evaluates your performance, factoring in credits used, lives lost, hits taken, bombs used, and stage-specific bonuses.
Power-Ups & Items: Enhance your starfighter with a variety of power-ups, including:
Power Up (P): Boosts your weapon level.
Full Power (F): Maxes out your weapon level instantly.
Primary Weapons:
Vulcan Cannon (V): Rapid-fire automatic weapon.
Laser (L): High-damage, straight-firing laser.
Spread Shot (S): Seven-way automatic gun.
Wave Laser (W): Wave-motion laser for dynamic attacks.
Missile Power-Ups:
Missile (M): Standard forward-moving missiles.
Napalm Missile (N): Explosive missiles with area-of-effect damage.
Burst Missile (B): Missiles causing radial damage on impact.
Homing Missile (H): Lock-on missiles that track enemies.
Thermonuclear Bomb (B): Clears enemies and bullets in a wide radius.
Ship Repair Items: Restore shields with Ship Repair (green cross), Super Ship Repair (red cross), or Max Ship Repair (dodger blue S).
Extra Life (1UP): Grants an additional life.
